LUPI APARTMENT (26 May-7June 2013)

Lupi apartment was a real find for our stay in Florence for 2 weeks in May. It is up a few flights of stairs, but well worth the climb. The view of the city and the duomo and the peaceful roof terraces made it a real oasis to return to after a long day! The only sounds were the swallows and the gentle chimes from the various campanile. The flat is very well laid out with two double bedrooms, one encorporating a double bunk bed/sofa bed and a futon in the living room. The kitchen is very well equipped, and the flat also has wifi and a washing machine.
Usually when visiting Florence I've stayed in the Santo Spirito area, so this was a great opportunity to explore a different part of the city, and we found it very easy to reach everywhere we wanted to go by foot.
Cristina and Stella were great hosts, very friendly and contactable if necessary (not that there were any problems), the apartment was full of small touches that made it a real home from home, and they even welcomed us with a bottle of their own via della chiesa wine.
I think after this stay (I've visited Florence several times now) Lupi would be top of my list for somewhere to stay.

Cristina has always been a fantastic host whenever I come to Florence. She is always very welcoming, generous with information and time, and has become a great friend whenever I visit Florence.  While I usually stay at one of her other apartments, I stayed in Lupi for this visit.  While the apartment is on the top floor (5th floor/114 steps!), every step higher is worth the great views of the city.  Located on a quiet street, this apartment has two terraces: the largest one is directly across from police offices (very safe!), the narrower one looks over an enclosed courtyard with views of the Duomo, Campanile, Badia and Bargello towers and even San Miniato.  The two bedrooms provide plenty of natural light, space and privacy, and each have access to one of the two terraces. The kitchen is modern with plenty of space for cooking and eating, however, you'll likely be eating your meals out on the terrace. Open the doors to the terraces and you'll have a refreshing cross breeze throughout the entire apartment.  Free wifi and washing machine are extras that make this a wonderful home away from home. This is definitely one of my favorite places in Florence. Thank you, again, Cristina and Stella!

Hello Cristina
We are back in Australia now having enjoyed our time in Milan and London after leaving Florence. Thanks again for your help. I am happy for you to post the following review on the website:

The San Frediano apartment in Florence was a most comfortable and convenient place for our three nights in Florence in October 2012. The apartment is spacious, clean and well set up with everything we needed for our three days. Cristina’s recommendations for local restaurants and places to shop meant that we found our way around the Santo Spirito area with no problem. The apartment is a reasonably easy walk from the train station, though there is a bus that goes nearby as well. I would recommend this as good place to stay in Florence. Catherine

I stayed in the San Frediano apartment for one month during the winter and it was luxurious to say the least for one person. I really enjoyed the location, close enough to the main part of the city to be easily accessible on foot, yet in a great, creative part of town with nice eateries and bars literally around the corner. Although the kitchen is small, it is well equipped with stove, oven, microwave and kettle! The bathroom is fantastic, new and clean with a massive shower. I experienced some problems with the heating later in my stay but Cristina was always right on hand for any problems, always eager to come down and help. I actually feel the apartment was better in real life than gives credit in the photos and wouldn\'t hesitate to stay again if I had the money.
